According to police, a man seen in a viral Walmart video smashing cases of Busch Light beer in Kansas has been charged with exposing himself to a minor.
Dustin J. David Cain, 44, of Topeka, was arrested after causing a commotion at the Walmart on SW Wanamaker Road on Monday night.
A TikTok video with over 306,000 views shows a man later identified as Cain removing cases of beer from a Walmart beverage refrigerator and angrily throwing them to the floor.
When he notices an onlooker filming him, he hurls a couple of loose beer cans into the distance, narrowly missing the amateur cameraman, who is forced to dive for cover.
Cain is later apprehended by police and led away in handcuffs.
Many commenters speculated that Cain’s sudsy stunt was related to the ongoing boycott of the brewing company Anheuser-Busch, which owns Busch Light and Bud Light.
When Bud Light partnered with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney earlier this month, it sparked a firestorm.
Anheuser-Busch, based in Missouri, has seen its market value fall by $5 billion since the Mulvaney campaign was announced on April 1.
According to Topeka police, Cain was arrested on charges of criminal damage to property, battery, assault, and lewd and lascivious — exposing sex organs to another 16 or older.
Cain allegedly exposed his privates to a teenager at some point, according to the last count.
Cain was booked into the local jail early Tuesday and ordered held on $1,500 bond. He is scheduled to appear in court again on June 7.
Cain was not the first person to get in trouble for throwing items in a store.
He was arrested in February 2022 at the Kwik Shop gas station convenience store on SW 6th Avenue in Topeka for causing a similar disturbance.
Cain was seen at the back of the shop throwing unspecified items, one of which struck a responding police officer, according to WIBW at the time.
