On January 6, 1986, Olga and Valery Shaykhlislamov welcomed Irina Shayk into the world. She was raised in a low-income household in the small Russian town of Yemanzhelinsk where she was born and raised. Shayk spent seven years in music school and developed early skills as a pianist and singer. She then registered for a marketing degree but left soon after to go to beauty school with her older sister. She was there when a modelling firm spotted her and invited her to compete in Miss Chelyabinsk 2004, a nearby beauty pageant, which she won.

She made the decision to move to Paris in an effort to get modelling employment, but her career ultimately carried her to New York, where she found great success. She started to gain recognition, and by 2007 she was the face of the Intimissimi brand. The same year, she took part in a photo session for the “Sports Illustrated” magazine’s swimsuit issue. Following these events, her modelling career took off, catapulting her into the spotlight and making her one of the top models to grace the pages of numerous magazines. She started working for well-known companies including Guess, Victoria’s Secret, Burberry, and Versace in 2009. Shayk represents the nonprofit Pomogi as its representative in Russia.

She began dating renowned soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo in 2010, but their relationship ended in 2015. Her well-liked editorial with “Vanity Fair Italy” was a smashing hit in 2012. She had been concentrating on modelling up until this point, but in 2014, she was cast in “Hercules” for her first movie part. The next year, she began dating well-known actor Bradley Cooper, with whom she later became pregnant. Sadly, following that, the pair split up. She enjoys giving back and represents both the A.S.P.C.A. and the New York City Food Bank.
