GIANLUIGI BUFFON is engaged to the stunning former Sky Sports presenter Ilaria D’Amico.
Since 2014, the attractive TV host has been in a romance with the World Cup winner.
Buffon proposed in 2017, and the couple postponed their wedding until he retired.
They are expected to marry next summer after he retired at the age of 45 in August.
Ilaria, an Italian presenter, studied law before pursuing a career in journalism, most notably with Sky Sports Italy.
She worked for the network as a presenter and pundit before quitting in 2018.
Ilaria has subsequently continued to work in the industry, even hosting her own talk show called What’s New.
Meanwhile, the 50-year-old has worked as an actress, appearing in an Italian comedy film as herself in 2008.
Before leaving the team two years ago, Ilaria participated alongside Buffon in Amazon Prime’s All or Nothing: Juventus series.
Ilaria’s Instagram has over 55,000 followers, and she uses the platform to reveal details about her life.
Fans are treated to snippets and photographs from her work, as well as family images and gorgeous red carpet photographs.
Ilaria and Buffon have been together for almost a decade, having met after the former goalkeeper’s divorce from his ex-wife.
Buffon previously divorced Czech model Alena Seredova after three years of marriage in 2014.
He and Ilaria have since had a son, and her Instagram is full of family photos.
Ilaria, on the other hand, acknowledged earlier this year that she never thought she could love Buffon.
When asked if she envisaged their life together when they first met, she told Corriere, “No, first and foremost because I would never have imagined falling in love with him…
“I was a bit prejudiced, I thought stupidly about the roles: the footballer, the journalist who covers sports.
“Then, at a charity event, I started talking to him in depth and everything became very fast.
“Things happened naturally, we were in the same emotional moment, with a great need to listen to each other about the crises we had experienced, the solitudes that had passed.
“After a month it was as if we had known each other for years and the projects came naturally. There was immediately the desire to merge our two worlds, to join the pieces.”
Ilaria and Buffon are now planning to tie the knot next summer, though, six years after first announcing their engagement.
Their wedding preparations may be jeopardized by the Euros, as Buffon is now a member of Italy’s coaching team.
The defending European champions are on track to qualify for the event in Germany, which will take place from June 14 to July 14.
