The Darts World Championship will return around Christmas, which means presenter Emma Paton will be on our televisions.
The competition, which takes place at London’s Alexandra Palace, starts on December 15 and is broadcast live on Sky Sports.
Paton will once again serve as the coverage’s host and will bring to the position her unmatched broadcasting expertise and insight.
She is a social media sensation with a large Instagram following, and she has made some audacious predictions about who might win the Sid Waddell Trophy this year.
Who is Emma Paton?
Before joining Sky Sports in 2012, the television presenter began her journalism career as a student at St. Mary’s University.
Paton worked her way up and quickly established herself as a regular newscaster on our TV screens.
She has been presenting from Alexandra Palace for a number of years and is now one of the faces of darts.
She also spends the entire football transfer window in the Sky studio, so darts are not her only experience.
She also specialises in WWE and eSports, and as a former track athlete who competed nationally in the 400m, she has worked on several significant athletic events.
With her predictions for the competition this year, Paton has taken a risk.
Nathan Aspinall is the surprise package choice she made. In order to reach Ally Pally, he overcame a possibly career-ending injury.
“The Asp is back to his best,” declares Paton.
She also advises keeping an eye out for Josh Rock, who is an unseeded player.
According to Paton, every player who watched the draw at the end of November hoped and prayed they wouldn’t be assigned Rock.
She can’t wait for Willie O’Connor and Beau Greaves’ first-round matchup.
Beau, who is only 18 years old, is prepared to break the record for youngest female competitor in the PDC World Darts Championship’s 30-year history.
The Doncaster thrower has been hailed by Paton, who is undecided as to who will prevail in Friday’s opening-night match.
Michael van Gerwen was the winner of her World Championship.
