On Inauguration Day in January, Ella Emhoff won over the public’s affections when she appeared at the US Capitol Building wearing a collared Batsheva dress and a bejewelled Miu Miu coat.
Emhoff experienced a brief burst of fame after her presence on Inauguration Day. This important of an event warrants a momentous dress, she told Vogue about her outfit.
But Emhoff, the stepdaughter of vice president Kamala Harris and the daughter of second gentleman Doug Emhoff, is no stranger to the world of fashion.
My darling Ella, we are such proud parents!
We love you so much, and are very much looking forward to all you do in the future.
And, to the other Class of 2021 graduates out there, huge congratulations! pic.twitter.com/HRoBU9Mx4G

She has also collaborated with the creator of her viral costume from January to develop a limited-edition line, which includes a crochet purse and knit blouses.
She is a Brooklyn, New York, resident who enjoys creating unique knitwear.
The artist and style icon is still just starting out in her career.
IMG Models Worldwide stated on January 28 that it was representing Emhoff and Amanda Gorman, 23, who made history by becoming the youngest person to recite a poem during a US presidential inauguration. This was eight days after Biden and Harris’ inauguration event.

Some of the most well-known names in fashion are represented by the modelling agency, including Gigi and Bella Hadid, Ashley Graham, Hailey Bieber, and Karlie Kloss.
“Ella communicates this moment in time,” Ivan Bart, the president of IMG Models, told The New York Times of Emhoff. “There’s a cheekiness and a joy she exudes.”
The New York Times said that Emhoff, a college student at the time, had been “modelling on and off for the last year with a smaller agent.”
She admitted to The New York Times that she had not anticipated signing on with a major modelling agency, but she wanted to use the opportunity to “be part of” the growing variety of models in the fashion business.
“I was pretty surprised when everything with IMG was happening because when I was younger, I never saw that as being part of my timeline,” Emhoff said. “As someone who, like a lot of young girls out there, had self-confidence issues, it is intimidating and scary to go into this world that is hyper-focused on you and the body.”
Emhoff walked the runway during Proenza Schouler’s Fall/Winter 2021 virtual fashion show in February, making her New York Fashion Week debut.
Emhoff wore three distinct ensembles, as seen in a designer’s video. Her initial attire consisted of a long coat in baby blue and matching bottoms. She then dressed in a bright trench coat. She finished the performance by donning a black blazer and a pair of baggy slacks.
Emhoff obtained her first magazine cover following her debut at New York Fashion Week.
For the spring 2021 issue of Dust Magazine, she was seen wearing a patchwork knit sweater, a Gucci cotton shirt, and a sleeveless turtleneck from The Row.

Emhoff, who previously told The New York Times: “I pick and choose the times I want to show my style,” said in her interview with Dust Magazine that the outfit she wore on its cover was true to her sense of fashion.
“Personally, I like the cross between old and new,” Emhoff said. “I love the doily-type collars, I obviously love knits, I love tartans, I love classic embroidery, and I wanted to make sure I stayed true to myself and keep that alive.”

“So many of her designs are so cohesive to my personal wants and needs,” Emhoff said of Hay.
“Even though my stuff is more ‘traditional femininity,’ I think that you’re also doing something playful and playing with femininity, too, in colors and shapes and all of that kind of stuff,” Hay said to Emhoff.
Emhoff revealed on a March episode of “Good Morning Vogue” on YouTube that she is working with Batsheva Hay, the designer of the outfit Emhoff wore on Inauguration Day, to introduce a line of knitted clothing.
