SERGIO BUSQUETS has joined ex-Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi at Inter Miami, with their partners poised to rejoin as well.
Busquets joined the club after 15 years at the Nou Camp, where he won nine LaLiga titles and three Champions Leagues.
Much of that period was also spent with Messi, who left Barcelona in 2021 to join PSG but left after two seasons.
Both have now signed for David Beckham’s Miami in the MLS, and their families have relocated to Florida.
Elena Galera, Busquets’ partner, has been his biggest fan since they met in 2013.
They have two children, Enzo and Levi, who have already been photographed in Miami shirts.
Elena and Messi’s wife Antonela were close during their time in Spain, and their friendship is likely to continue in the United States.
They’ve even gone on vacation together with Luis Suarez’s girlfriend Sofi and Cesc Fabregas’ wife Daniella.
Following the news of Busquets’ departure, Jordi Alba is expected to become the latest ex-Barca player to relocate to Miami.
“This is a special and exciting opportunity that I’m very excited to take,” Busquets remarked.
“I’m looking forward to this next step in my career with Inter Miami.
“I was impressed by the club when I came with Barcelona last year and now I’m happy and ready to represent the club myself.
“I can’t wait to help bring the success that this ambitious club strives for.”
