A 12-year-old Oklahoma girl was hailed as a “hero” after she miraculously woke up in time to save her entire family! On an early Saturday morning, Deysi Garza Aguirre was sound sleeping on the couch when she was startled by the sound of a “pop.”
a warning Deysi started unplugging all of the electrical equipment, but she soon realised that the fire had spread and was dangerously near to catching the furniture on fire. She immediately roused everyone in the house, including her aunt, siblings, and cousins, and used a neighbor’s phone to call 911 to report the accident. On their Facebook page, the Clinton Fire Department sent a statement praising the young person’s bravery.
According to the statement, the entire house was destroyed, but Deysi saved every member of the family. It continued, “Deysi Garza Aguirre, who is 12 years old and a hero, is pictured here. Without a doubt, her brave acts stopped something much worse from happening. We gave her the courage and bravery award from the Clinton Fire Department today. The family is still together even though they may have lost their home.” People praised Deysi for her unwavering awareness and the bravery she displayed in handling the issue.
One of them stated that they had chills reading this and hoped that Deysi was proud of herself, referring to her as a “brave young lady.” The Clinton Fire Department was praised by one of them for honouring “the community when they go above and beyond.” The home’s visuals revealed that everything was in a terrible state of disrepair and total decay. Deysi’s sofa was reduced to nothing more than a pile of shredded fabric and a shattered framework. This just served to highlight how disastrous the fire may have been for the sleeping family had Deysi not awoken.
Deysi spoke with KOCO 5 a few days later to give the station a tour and discussed what had happened that morning. “I had the first information… I began calling out my aunt’s name. I don’t recall my thoughts, but I just wanted to get them out. Everyone has praised me as a hero. I’m happy that I was able to protect my family.” She was the first member of the Clinton Fire Department to receive an award “The Clinton Fire Department’s award for bravery and heroism was created by us. Simply said, it’s something we felt compelled to do for her.”
The fire has also completely ruined the family’s wardrobe. They pleaded with everyone to contribute clothes for them, especially her parents who are currently renting a new apartment in the neighbourhood. The required sizes and locations for donations were also published by the Clinton Fire Department: “Boy 3t size 6 shoes, girl 5t size 10 shoes, girl size 10 size 1 shoes, adult small size 4 shoes, mom small size 6 1/2 shoes, dad 34/34 pants, LG shirts, and size 11 shoes are just a few of the sizes available. At the fire station, we are taking donations.”
