Shaka Hislop: What happened to him?
Hislop’s collapse during a pre-game interview on July 23, 2023, alarmed soccer supporters and his family.
“Shake! Shake!” Dan Thomas, his co-host, was heard yelling on-air shortly after it occurred, “We need some help. We need medical care!”
He was being treated on the field by medical personnel when the broadcast abruptly cut to a commercial break. In the end, Thomas covered the game without him but made sure to update the audience on his health.
“The news is positive as it stands. He is speaking and is awake. I believe that he is somewhat ashamed of everything. He has offered numerous excuses. Not a man who enjoys attention from others,” he claimed.
Even though Hislop is awake, it is still unclear what caused him to pass out. Thomas continued, “Obviously, far too early to make any sort of diagnosis.”
However, it’s crucial that Shaka is conscious and that we have spoken to his family as well because, as you can probably imagine after witnessing it firsthand, there aren’t many other things that could frighten your family members. But fortunately, his wife told us everything is fine.
It has been suggested that the heat may have contributed to the collapse, but as Thomas said, it is still too early to say.
