She was the second of five children born in Calgary on April 1, 1971, and shared accommodation that was subsidized.
After working as a TV extra and working at McDonald’s for a while, Danielle graduated from the nearby university with a degree in Economics and English.
The aspirational woman began her career as a columnist before hosting her own radio program that addressed property rights and health policy.

The Canadian first became involved in politics in 2006 when she backed Ted Morton, a Progressive Conservative, in his bid for leadership. She left the party in 2009 to join the Wildrose Alliance.
She lost both the 2012 Alberta election as the leader of the Wildrose Party and the ensuing by-elections.
She returned to the Progressive Conservative Party in December 2014.
In 2017, the United Conservative Party was formed by the merger of the Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta and the Wildrose Party.
Prior to taking a hiatus in 2015 to pursue a career in journalism and radio, she worked in politics until 2022. She then left the field for seven years before returning in that capacity.
The CBC referred to Danielle’s comeback to politics as “one of the most remarkable political comebacks in Canadian history”.

Danielle’s second husband, David Moretta, was an executive producer that she met while she was employed in radio.
The pair were married in 2006 and have been dating for more than 15 years.
Danielle’s Twitter page shows Boot, their little, fluffy dog, even though they are childless.
David spends his time managing multiple enterprises, including a small restaurant he co-owns with Danielle, while his wife oversees the UCP.

Danielle captioned the post: “Fun fact: my husband and I still own a restaurant.
“This weekend the dishwasher broke down, so I went in for a shift.”
The restaurant serves a range of traditional dishes from burgers to pecan pie and has received many five star reviews.
