After winning the race, Fox spoke to ITV, praising his horse, saying, “He is just a phenomenal horse. I can’t believe it. He normally gets his head up a wee bit but today he traveled everywhere. He is the cleverest horse. He is so intelligent.”
On Saturday, the pre-race favourite Corach Rambler won the Grand National 2023. After protesters entered the Aintree course track, the event was delayed.
Rambler had an 8-1 advantage at the start. Derek Fox was the one riding him. The horse, trained by Lucinda Russell, was able to defeat Vanillier, who finished second, Gaillard Du Mesnil, who finished third, and Noble Yeats, who finished fourth last year.
Irish jockey Derek Fox rides horses. He rides a Corach Rambler and is thirty years old.
Fox was born on May 14, 1992. He won the 2017 Grand National on One For Arthur. Some of his other major achievements include winning the Sefton Novices’ Hurdle in 2021 and the Mildmay Novices’ Chase in 2022.
Derek Fox is known for his impressive performances, but this Grand National champion’s own journey is also quite motivational.

Fox reportedly dropped out of school at the age of 14 due to a dyslexia diagnosis and his inability to read and write. He admits that he used to spend too much time at the bar or watching television, but these days he would much rather savour a good book.
Fox had no doubts about becoming a jockey despite everything because he had ridden a Welsh pony named Reggie since he was a young child. He and a select group of friends would occasionally board the bus for school only to get off at the next stop and spend the remainder of the day riding across the pitch bareback.
‘My mother almost always caught us out but sometimes we got away with it clean,’ Fox says with a smile. ‘I used to play a little bit of football and other sports in school hours but outside school, I just rode the ponies. That’s all I ever wanted to do. ‘I never made a decision to ride racehorses it was just something I assumed I was going to do.’
