During his WWE appearances, Johnny Gargano has put up excellent back-to-back performances. This not only elevates him in the eyes of the audience, but also provides him with a great platform to rank with the legends for his agility and great skills inside the squared circle.
However, much of the credit for Gargano’s performance must go to his wife, Candice LeRae, who has always supported him. Candice was a professional wrestler before signing with WWE, and she competed in promotions such as Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG).
Candice LeRae and Johnny Gargano married in Disneyland in 2016. The couple has an unrivalled passion for the world of Disney. One can imagine a couple planning the most important day of their lives in Disneyland and making it their wedding destination.
Before they met, Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae were both involved in the world of professional wrestling. They didn’t become friends until much later in life. Gargano previously revealed to AZ Central how he met Candice.
“I remember [Candice] brought her cousin to the back, and they were just hanging out talking, and I decided I was going to try to get to [Candice] by talking to her cousin about her cell phone,” he said. Though it was not a successful attempt as Gargano wanted it to be, the two became friends.
The couple also recalled their first date together. While most couples plan elaborate dates, Gargano and Candice had different plans. While on an independent circuit, the couple snuck out to a nearby Subway. However, the date too didn’t go as planned as AEW star Trent Beretta decided to third-wheel them.
Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae are the parents of Quill Gargano, a one-year-old boy. Quill was born on February 17, 2022, to the couple. Candice took a break from in-ring action during her pregnancy, but she returned stronger than ever in September 2022.
Johnny Gargano, like any other professional wrestler’s parent, opened up to work for his child. Many fans expected Gargano to change his ring style after the birth of Quill, but that is not the case here. Gargano told the USA Network, “I don’t think I’ll ever wrestle in a ‘different’ way,” as he worked out the dynamics of his personal and professional lives.
