The person who killed his ex-partner brutally was ASHER Maslin.
In 2014, while Hollie Gazzard was at work, Maslin attacked and killed her.
Who is Asher Maslin?
Prior to his arrest, Asher Maslin was employed as a security guard in Gloucester.
The 20-year-old Hollie Gazzard, a hairdresser at a salon in Gloucester, was the ex-girlfriend of the then-22-year-old.
In 2013, Maslin and Hollie first met in a bar, and they soon started dating.
Hollie ended their relationship in 2014 as a result of Maslin’s violent and possessive behaviour.
Maslin, however, refused to acknowledge Hollie’s change of heart.
After stealing the hairdresser’s bank cards as she was making her way to her car, he withdrew £300 and went on a crack cocaine binge.
When did Asher Maslin kill Hollie Gazzard?
Hollie had phoned the police just two days prior to the murder with worries about her ex-partner.
Her request for help from the police came after she and her family received numerous threatening SMS.
However, Maslin could not be located.
One message read: “I don’t want to get f***ing violent as I’ll take it too far.”
Asher Maslin entered the salon where Hollie worked on February 18, 2014, and viciously stabbed the young hairstylist.
Maslin stabbed Hollie 14 times during a frantic two-minute attack as she was finishing up a haircut for her final client of the day.
Maslin was seen on surveillance footage selling his DVD player before the murder in order to raise money for the 12-inch kitchen knife he would use to assault his ex-girlfriend.
On February 18, at around 6.30 p.m., Maslin texted her sister Chloe’s boyfriend with the terrifying message “I warned you all” before walking into the salon.
A few seconds later, he entered the salon and killed the 20-year-old.
Salon boss Sian Pryszlak told of how Hollie had anticipated his arrival that day and how the pair agreed to call 999 if he did show.
She also recalled the harrowing moment Maslin carried out the attack.
“I was doing a gentleman’s hair,” said Sian.
“I said hello and he said hello and I walked to the back of the salon and held my phone up to Hollie to show that I was going to phone the police and we both nodded to one another.
“I remember feeling quite nervous and anxious about it. I heard quite a lot of commotion and then there were people running towards me and one client said. ‘There’s a knife.’”
In July 2014, Asher Maslin was sentenced to life in prison after being found responsible for the murder of Hollie Gazzard.
Before being eligible for release, the murderer must serve a minimum of 24 years in prison.
Because of the terrible crime he did, he is currently serving time in prison.
The fact is that Maslin had already run into legal issues.
Details of his violent background came to light after Hollie died.
Hollie’s dad, Nick, explained: ”He’d been arrested 23 times with increasing violence, with domestic abuse, GBH. He was a serial perpetrator.
“Hollie would not have wanted to be with someone who had done that to other people.”
