A California court sentenced Paul Flores to 25 years to life in prison without the possibility of parole after finding him responsible for the first-degree murder of Kristin Smart. Flores was the last person to be seen with Smart, a freshman at California Polytechnic State University, when she vanished on May 25, 1996. Authorities claimed that Flores killed her while attempting to rape her in his dorm room.

Ruben Flores, Flores’ father, was suspected of helping him dispose of Smart’s remains, which were thought to have been buried in the backyard of his Arroyo Grande residence. It was also asserted that he had later moved her remains to a different location by exhuming them.
Law enforcement officials made a lot of effort but were unable to find Smart’s remains. In 2002, she was ruled to be legally dead. Angie Carrizel, Paul Flores’ ex-girlfriend who was one of the witnesses in the case last year who provided testimony that resulted in his conviction in October, has however also become a topic of conversation since the verdict was made public.
As a result, many people are now attempting to learn more about her. So, this is what we do know.
Who is Angie Carrizel?
American-born Angie Carrizel was raised here. She has been in the news because her ex-boyfriend, Paul Flores, was found guilty of killing Kristin Smart and received a sentence of 25 years to life in prison.
For about two years, she was romantically linked to Paul Flores. She claimed to have already met Ruben and Susan Flores, his parents. She claimed to have met the Flores family there.
Angie Carrizel spoke in court on August 25 about a chance encounter she allegedly had in Flores’ backyard in the early 2000s. She claimed that although they had forbidden her from approaching the plants because they didn’t want her to approach the avocado trees in their garden, she had asked for some avocados from the trees there.
