A 14-year-old student at her school was allegedly sexually assaulted by a Connecticut school lunch lady after she groomed him via text.
Andie Paige Rosafort, a former lunch assistant in New Fairfield, is accused of sending a teenage boy nude pictures and videos via Snapchat over the course of six months and engaging in sexual activity with him.
Rosafort, 31, is accused of asking the boy, “You want to see something?” before sending him her first naked picture.
After learning on January 17 that Rosafort and the teen had engaged in inappropriate behaviour, the New Fairfield Police Department started looking into the allegations.
The victim’s parents were informed by a friend, and they subsequently reported the alleged sexual assault to the police.
The affidavit states that Rosafort had been in touch with the victim for six months via Instagram and Snapchat among other social media sites.
The victim claimed that Rosafort sent him a message asking, “You want to see something?” before sending him a picture of himself undressed.
Rosafort sent a second uninvited nude selfie in response to the boy’s question about whether she might have sent the picture accidentally.
The woman is also accused of sending videos of herself masturbating to him over the course of several months, along with other sexts.
Rosafort is alleged to have demanded that the 14-year-old send her pictures of him in his undies as payment.
The victim added that Rosafort sent him videos of him playing and went to his sporting events.
Rosafort and the alleged victim were both present at the scene of the alleged sexual assaults, according to evidence gathered by the police.
Additionally, according to investigators, Rosafort’s phone contained a photo of the victim without a shirt.
The teen had been at a party when he informed his friends that he had to leave because he needed to see his family, according to the affidavit obtained by WTNH.
His sudden departure from the event gave his friends the impression that something was strange.
His friends thought the boy was “acting strange” when he came back. When asked about what transpired with the dinner lady, he replied, “I left the party to have sex with a woman.”
The victim engaged in sexual activity inside the car, but according to the arrest warrant, he “ended the encounter because he began,”
Rosafort surrendered last month and posted a bond of $100,000. She was allowed to go on the condition that she not interact with any minors besides her own kids. She is no longer permitted to use social media.
Rosafort, who had previously been warned to watch her interactions with minors, resigned from her part-time position at the school when the allegations became public, according to Newstimes. It was labelled as “possibly inappropriate behaviour” by the school.
Records from the school district show that she received a warning not to text or message students on social media in December.
According to police, Rosafort has been charged with a number of crimes, including sexual assault in the second degree and using a computer to persuade a minor to engage in sexual activity, as well as causing injury or risk of injury and undermining a minor’s morals.
The charges against her have been denied, and her next court date is set for March 23.
