A woman from northern Westchester County attempted but failed after tuning in to “Jeopardy!” twice on Tuesday.
Katie Palumbo, a museum interpreter and 2010 Somers High School alumna, defeated a three-day champion on the quiz programme on Monday but lost on Tuesday.
In the Final Jeopardy round, Vince Bacani of Montreal, Quebec, Canada defeated her.
After no participant had the right answer, Bacani won the game show with $13,000 to Palumbo’s $2,400.
The Amawalk resident won a total of $23,100 in one day.
Palumbo defeated Yogesh Raut of Springfield, Illinois, who had won $96,403 over the course of three days.
Palumbo was caught remarking that her wins will help her reach a significant adult milestone in a video on the “Jeopardy!” website.
“I’m completely out of college debt right now!” she said, giving a high five to one of her competitors.
