A Bed Bath & Beyond CEO unexpectedly leaped to his death on Friday as his wife was there in their opulent New York City apartment.
The company’s chief financial officer, 52-year-old Gustavo Arnal, apparently didn’t speak to his wife, Alexandra Cadenas-Arnal, prior to taking his own life on Friday.
The New York Post adds that he also did not leave a note indicating the reason he jumped on Friday from the 18th story of the renowned “Jenga” skyscraper in lower Manhattan’s Tribeca district.

Currently, Arnal is survived by his two adult daughters as well as his wife of 28 years, Alexandra.
On Sunday morning, they were observed leaving their posh apartment complex, reportedly on their way to make funeral arrangements.
According to the Post, a doorman reportedly said to his sobbing wife, “I’m so very, very sorry,” as the family walked up to a dark SUV.
According to the authorities, complaints of the leap at 56 Leonard Street near Church Street started coming in approximately 12:30 on Friday.
The jumper at the 57-story skyscraper, where apartments may cost up to $50 million, was identified as Arnal on Friday afternoon, according to the New York Post.
EMS personnel from the city reacted to the incident and were observed removing the man’s body in a black body bag.
According to an FDNY representative, a second victim, who was also unidentified, was hospitalised with minor wounds.
Near the building, a woman was spotted crying and acting distressed before getting into the ambulance. The hospitalised patient’s age and gender were unknown to the FDNY official.
