When gunfire broke out on February 14, 2024, during a SUPER BOWL party, people were trying to flee for their lives.
Following the unexpected end to the Kansas City Chiefs parade, Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays were taken into custody by the police for their roles in the incident.

Dominic Miller and Lyndell Mays were identified as suspects in the shooting at the Kansas City parade on February 20, 2024.
Miller and Mays were both charged with second-degree murder, armed criminal action, and unauthorized use of a firearm upon their arrests.
The Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office claims that after two groups confronted one another about inappropriate looks, the shooting got more intense.
Jackson County prosecutors declared at a news conference that there had been a verbal altercation and that gunshots had broken out without consideration for the thousands of other people in the vicinity.
“We seek to hold every shooter accountable for their actions that day.
“While we’re not there yet, we’re going to get there. We are not done yet.”
Police also verified that Mays was the one who allegedly pulled his gun initially as the fight went on.
They also said that Miller’s group members were Mays’ rumored attempted targets.Police said that after Miller allegedly returned fire in Mays’ direction, the scene became more heated.
Miller, 18, is from Kansas City, and Mays, 23, is from Raytown, Missouri.
“It is reassuring for our family and the entire community to know that this joint team effort has resulted in the identification of the suspects involved.
“Though it does not bring back our beloved Lisa, it is comforting to know that the Jackson County Prosecutor’s Office and the KCPD made it a top priority to seek justice for Lisa, the other shooting victims, those who had to witness this tragedy unfold and the Kansas City community.”
