When did Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested?
On July 22, 1991, Jeffrey Dahmer was arrested after one of his victims, Tracy Edwards, managed to flee and directed police to his apartment.
Officers inspecting his residence came across a bedside table drawer stuffed with unsettling Polaroid pictures of his victims’ severed bodies.
He was accused with 16 murders by September 14, 1991, many of which were carried out at his Milwaukee, Wisconsin, apartment.
For the murder of his first victim, 18-year-old hitchhiker Steven Hicks, Dahmer received 16 consecutive life sentences, with the last one being imposed in May 1992.
Why did Jeffrey Dahmer get sent to prison?
From 1978 until 1991, the cruel serial killer drugged, raped, killed, mutilated, and ate 17 men and boys.
Nearly majority of Dahmer’s victims were members of LGBT or racial minorities. He would entice them back to his flat by promising to compensate them in exchange for nude photos.
Before performing his horrible deeds, such as cutting holes in their skulls while they were still alive and pouring acid on their brains, he would first drug their drinks.
Additionally, he would save various body parts as mementos, such as genitalia and skulls.
Polaroid photos of his victims were taken by Dahmer, according to Biography.com, “at various stages of the murder process, so he could recall each act later and relive the experience.”
Later, he admitted that he had forced his victims to pose for photos on a black table that would eventually become his altar.
What prison did Jeffrey Dahmer go to?
At the Columbia Correctional Institution in Wisconsin, Dahmer was held captive.
Due to worries for his safety, he was kept in solitary confinement for the first year before being moved to another unit.

On November 28, 1994, Christopher Scarver—a man with a murder conviction—bludgeoned Dahmer to death.
