There have never been many options for photo quality on WhatsApp. The “Standard” and “Best” quality options for sending images are currently available, but they are still compressed to conserve data.
Thankfully, WhatsApp now allows you to send “HD photos,” ending this restriction once and for all. By choosing this option, you can maintain the image’s full resolution with the least amount of quality loss. An “HD” option will now be available when sending someone a photo. Look at the illustration below.
The recipient will also notice a small “HD” icon at the bottom left corner of the image once it has been sent, informing them that the image is larger and of higher quality.
Full resolution and compression are two distinct concepts, and WhatsApp hasn’t yet made this distinction clear. However, ProPakistani’s testing revealed that while WhatsApp does, in fact, slightly compress the image, there is hardly any difference in the image quality, so there isn’t much to be upset about.
Those who want to save data or don’t care much about high-quality photos can continue to use the Standard quality option. However, it appears that the former “Best” quality option in the app’s settings has been permanently removed.
This is a step in the right direction because the Best quality feature was hidden deep within the app’s settings, and many users were unaware that it even existed. Anyone sending a photo can now clearly see the “HD” option.
Pakistan has already received the HD quality feature. Ensure that WhatsApp is updated to the most recent version.
