On the most recent beta of its Web app, WhatsApp has started testing a feature that allows users to edit sent messages. The messaging platform, which is owned by Meta, was previously seen developing a pop-up notification that informed users when a message was edited. Recently, some beta testers received the ability to edit a text message after it has been sent. Users currently have a brief window after a message is sent before editing is turned off.
According to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo, WhatsApp Web version 2.2319.9 has a new feature. The new action Edit message has been added to the right-click menu for users of this version of the WhatsApp Web client. It’s important to remember that only text messages can currently be edited.
After a message has been sent, users will only have five minutes to make changes, the feature tracker revealed. According to WABetaInfo, you can edit a message multiple times, and it works both in chats and in groups.
