WHATSAPP has finally included a feature that fans have been requesting for years.
Mark Zuckerberg, the famous messaging app’s owner, has disclosed that users will be able to edit messages after they have been received.
However, you will only have a little opportunity to remedy any embarrassing blunders before they spark an argument.
Users will have up to 15 minutes to correct any typos or errors.
To utilize it, simply press and hold the message until a menu displays, where you’ll find the Edit button.
But keep in mind that you won’t be able to alter texts fully unobserved.
If you’re in a heated argument, a marking next to the time will indicate that you’ve made a change, so anticipate awkward inquiries to follow.
They won’t be able to see the edit history, thankfully.
“You can now edit your WhatsApp messages up to 15 mins after they’re sent!” Zuckerberg announced on his Facebook page.
The functionality is being rolled out internationally starting today and will be available to everyone in the following weeks, according to WhatsApp.
“I once wrote “my condoms” instead of my condolences in a family group,” one user wrote.
Another said: “I remember sending my ex this message….“ baby, I need a bréakup now” instead of “ baby, I need a bréakfast”.
“And that was the end of the relationship.”
