At just 36 years old, WWE wrestler Bray Wyatt passed away in August 2023.
Later, it was revealed that the celebrity had been ill in the months before he passed away.
Bray Wyatt: Who was he?
Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt, was an American professional wrestler. He was born in Florida on May 23, 1987, and passed away on August 24, 2023.
The celebrity was the grandson of wrestler Blackjack Mulligan and son of Mike Rotunda.
Taylor Rotunda, his brother, also made appearances in the WWE as Bo Dallas.
Samantha Rotunda, a real estate agent, and Wyatt previously wed.
Despite having two daughters together, Cadyn and Kendyl Rotunda, the couple divorced in 2017.
Wyatt and JoJo Offerman were dating at the time.
She is a professional wrestler as well. Her work on the reality series Total Divas made her a household name.
Knash Sixx, a son, was born to Wyatt and Offerman in May 2019.
The following year, Hyrie Von, their daughter, was born.
It was established following Wyatt’s passing that his family would receive every penny of the proceeds from the sale of his goods.
According to a statement on the WWE website, “In the wake of Bray Wyatt’s death, WWE will donate all net proceeds to support JoJo Offerman and his children.”
What ailment did Bray Wyatt suffer from?
Wyatt hadn’t been seen on television since February 2023, and there were rumors that he was ill or injured.
Later reports claimed that he had actually been dealing with heart problems brought on by a case of Covid-19.
Wyatt had been improving just before he passed away, according to wrestling reporter Sean Ross Sapp, who posted about it online.
“I was given permission to reveal that Windham Rotunda (Bray Wyatt) got COVID earlier this year that exacerbated a heart issue,” he wrote on Twitter. There had been a lot of success in his recovery and return.
“Unfortunately, he had a heart attack today and died.”
Before Wyatt passed away, the WWE reportedly took precautions to make sure his health could be stabilized long-term.
His illness, according to them, was “both career and life-threatening.”
What caused Bray Wyatt’s death?
On August 25, 2023, Wyatt’s demise was officially announced.
According to a statement from the WWE, “WWE is saddened to learn that Windham Rotunda, also known as Bray Wyatt, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 24, at age 36.”
His death was reportedly caused by a heart attack, but neither his family nor the police have officially confirmed this.
