According to the latest weather advice published by the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Karachi will get light rain today (April 28) due to the impact of a westerly wave.
According to the Met Department, a new weather system will hit Sindh this evening, bringing rain and thunderstorms to Karachi and other regions of Sindh.
Meanwhile, the city’s temperature would remain between 29 and 35 degrees Celsius, with humidity reaching up to 70%.
Winds from the southwest are currently blowing at 16km/h, according to the report.
Rainfall, including a few moderate to isolated heavy rains and hailstorms, is expected in Karachi division and other districts of Sindh from Friday (28th April) to 1st May, with occasional intervals.
Heavy rains may cause flooding in low-lying regions of Qambar- Shahdadkot, Dadu, Mirpurkhas, Umerkot, Sanghar, Matiari, and Badin districts, according to the Met Office. Strong winds have the potential to inflict damage to loose and fragile constructions.
The Met Office has also forecast rain in the country’s central and southern regions as a result of the westerly wave, which is expected to last through the first week of May.
