According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), temperatures are expected to gradually increase throughout the majority of the nation this week, with some regions potentially experiencing conditions resembling a heat wave.
The daytime temperatures in most of the country are expected to gradually rise from June 20 to June 24 as a result of high pressure in the upper atmosphere, according to the most recent PMD alert.
Upper and central Punjab, Islamabad, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are expected to experience daytime temperatures that are 04–06°C above normal, while Sindh, South Punjab, and portions of Balochistan will likely experience temperatures that are 02–04°C above normal.
In the country’s plains and hilly regions during this time, isolated dust/thunderstorms with brief periods of rain are expected. Power and water demand will rise over the next few days as a result of the temperature rise. In all facets of life, prudent use of electricity and water is required.
Farmers are advised to control crop watering in accordance with their needs. The general public is advised to stay out of the sun whenever possible.
