The cyclone known as “Biparjoy” over the Arabian Sea keeps intensifying, posing a serious threat to the nearby areas. The Meteorological Department predicts that Thatta, Mirpur Khas, Badin, and Sajawal will experience 300 to 400 mm of heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.
The villages of Keti Bandar, Jati, and Shah Bandar, which are the most threatened, will see an evacuation of about 50,000 residents, according to Chief Minister Sindh, in order to prevent any danger to life or property. Approximately 2000 Badin residents have already moved to safer areas.
In the upcoming days, 4 to 5 meters of sea wave height is predicted. The cyclone is moving northwest while circling 600 kilometers south of Karachi. It is recommended that Karachi residents stay away from the coast until the threat has passed.
