After losing his leg in a terrible accident, this is the terrifying moment a father-of-three opened his eyes for the first time.
Ty Brickley, 32, of Belmont, Perth, was knocked unconscious after being struck by a car as he was moving furniture.
Witnesses were horrified to hear that Mr. Bickley was hit by the car as he was standing on a truck ramp.
The footage of him opening his eyes for the first time, according to his family, indicates that he is now exhibiting indications of progress.
Mr. Brickey’s older sister Tina told 7News that a tourniquet applied by a coworker saved his life.
I would like to thank him and everyone else who was on the scene since, as we were informed, he wouldn’t be here today without them.
After three procedures, Mr. Brickley’s leg had to be amputated above the knee.
He also overcame sepsis, but is currently struggling with pneumonia.
Regarding the extent of Mr. Brickley’s brain injury, doctors are still unsure.
The front of his brain was severely bruised, and he had three breaks in the back of his skull.
The police and WorkSafe are still looking into the matter.
His young family has started a GoFundMe to assist them get by.
Ty was the primary breadwinner for his wife Alannah and their three children, Sophie, Matthew, and Isaac, according to event organiser Lee Hutcheson.
