When an argument turned violent, a student shocked everyone by throwing her teacher to the ground.
Tiwana Turner, a teacher at Heritage High School in Atlanta, Georgia, was left with many wounds and a fractured leg after confronting a student in the ninth grade about her conduct in class.
On camera, Ms. Turner is seen pleading for assistance before the student knocks her phone out of her hands, as seen on news channel Fox5.
She seems to slam the door on the teacher’s back as she keeps ranting at her.
Ms. Turner is punched by the kid, who also hurts her knee and leg as she falls to the ground.
As Ms. Turner is being transported to the hospital by emergency personnel, other teachers hurry to remove the young girl from the situation.
Students are out of control, according to Verdaillia Turner, president of the Georgia Federation of Teachers, who spoke to Fox5.
“There is no excuse for the violence. There is no excuse for children who are coming into our school daily and wreaking havoc so other students cannot learn.”
It read: “Yesterday, her life was suddenly altered, and now she will require several mobility accommodations while she recovers.
“She is currently hospitalised with knee and leg injuries, and is unable to walk. She will not be returning to work anytime soon, and she will require extensive rehabilitation and therapy.”
Rockdale County Public Schools spokeswoman Cindy Ball had the following to say about the incident: “RCPS does not accept student aggression towards any staff members.
“Students who harm other students or staff will be disciplined according to our Student Discipline Code of Conduct and will be appropriately charged by law enforcement.
“We will adhere to personnel and student privacy laws in this matter.”
