When Nottinghamshire played Birmingham Bears in a Vitality T20 Blast encounter on Friday, Shaheen Afridi, who is known for his ability to take wickets in the first over, made history by putting on an outstanding performance that will go down in the annals of cricket.
Afridi stunned the cricketing world when he took the bat and ball to start the second innings by dismissing four batsmen, not just one, two, or three.
At Trent Bridge in Nottingham, Afridi first caught Warwickshire captain Alex Davies leg-before-wicket for a golden duck after allowing five wides off the opening delivery while defending a total of 169.
He clean bowled Chris Benjamin with his very next ball, sending the opposition into disarray. Afridi then forced a catch to dismiss left-handed batter Dan Mousley for only one run, continuing his impressive performance.
Afridi unleashed a delivery that destroyed Ed Barnard’s off stump, leading in another first-ball duck, just as it appeared that he was finished with the over. He stunned onlookers with his skill by finishing the first over with the astounding figures of seven for four.
Watch the four-wicket haul.

Afridi took an amazing four wickets, but his team was unable to win. Birmingham Bears won their battle with two wickets in hand thanks to a tenacious 46-ball 65 from opener Robert Yates and significant contributions from the lower order, notably twin 27s from Jacob Bethell and Jake Lintott.
