On the eve of World Teachers Day, a tragedy in the southern Cebu town of Minglanilla took the life of a teacher.
The motorcycle driver who was engaged in a traffic accident last Tuesday, October 4, that killed a teacher from Minglanilla Central School is being sought by police in the southern Cebu town of Minglanilla.
Two motorcycles collided with one another along the highway in Barangay Tunghaan around 5:43 on Tuesday, according to the local police.
Sherwin Servedo was the driver of one of the motorcycles, while Charisma, his wife, was the passenger.
The biggest public elementary school in the municipality, Minglanilla Central School, employed Charisma as a teacher.
Charisma passed away subsequently, according to police master sergeant Joel Lacson of the Minglanilla Police Station, while her husband is still being treated in a hospital.
The Honda Click the Servedo couple was driving was preparing to perform a u-turn on the highway late on Tuesday afternoon, according to the police’s initial findings.
However, a coming Rusi 125 motorbike struck them. The collision sent the Servedos flying, and Charisma suffered serious wounds that ultimately caused her early death, according to police.
According to Lacson, the Rusi 125 motorcycle’s rider allegedly fled the scene.
In an effort to identify the driver, police are now gathering more information.
A first-class town called Minglanilla is around 19 kilometres south of Cebu City.
