KARACHI – Maryam Nawaz, vice president of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), was speaking to flood victims in the far southwest of Punjab province on Wednesday when she fell off a stage and was unharmed.
When the temporary stage in Rajanpur crumbled, video posted on social media shows the PML-N leader standing there flanked by other party leaders.
After the momentary collapse, the lawmaker, 48, briefly lost her equilibrium, but she was able to regain it and continue speaking.
Speaking to the victims, she stated that Nawaz Sharif, the head of the PML-N, had told him to travel to the flood-affected districts to express support for the affected people.
Maryam Nawaz stated that the government will take all necessary steps to assist those who lost their homes as a result of unusual monsoon rains that led to flash floods across the nation in getting their lives back on track.
Over 1,100 individuals have died nationwide, and the floods have had a variety of negative effects on more than five million people.
