Dr. Lili Xu Asian woman was shot on Sunday, August 21, 2022, in Oakland’s Little Saigon during an attempted robbery.
According to the officials, the man suffered numerous gunshot wounds and died as a result. The victim has been named as Castro Valley dentist Dr. Lili Xu of Chinatown.
This is another another instance of Asian Americans being victimised by violence throughout the country. The murder of a cherished doctor outraged members of the Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) community, who wanted justice.

Police have not yet made any arrests despite the fact that the incident was photographed. City Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong commented on the situation and said that the force was looking into the homicide.
A dark, four-door Mercedes Benz can be seen parked next to the curb on surveillance footage. A few seconds later, a white, four-door Lexus drives up next to the first vehicle. Then a man gets out of the white automobile and walks across to the passenger side of the dark sedan.

After a few seconds, screaming and multiple gunshots could be heard. The woman reportedly objected when the perpetrator demanded her purse and was then shot. Prior to the attempted robbery, the Lexus from which the suspect exited had been parked a short distance away for 30 to 45 minutes.
In Oakland’s Chinatown, the shooting happened on Sunday, August 21, around 2:00 p.m., close to the intersection of Fifth Avenue and East 11th Street.
