Babar Azam, the captain of Peshawar Zalmi and Pakistan, is getting ready for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
In preparation for PSL 8, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), along with the Balochistan government, will hold an exhibition game on February 5 between the Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi at Quetta’s Bugti Stadium.
Babar began a rigorous training regimen to prepare for the PSL.
The batter posted a video of himself practising on Twitter. “Gearing up for PSL,” the caption that accompanied the video, stated.
The fact that Babar won the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year on Thursday deserves to be mentioned at this point.
In 44 games in 2022, he amassed 2598 runs at an average of 54.12, with eight hundreds and fifteen half-centuries.
On Tuesday, Babar was selected captain of the ICC ODI Team of the Year for 2022 and was also named to the ICC Test Team of the Year for 2022.
Babar had already begun his training on Tuesday at the National High Performance Center in Lahore. After the New Zealand series, he hasn’t practised prior to now.
The batter practised batting with NHPC coaches and private trainers throughout the course of a three-hour training session.
Babar was chosen as the Yellow Storm’s captain after transferring from the Karachi Kings to the 2017 champions.
After an exciting opening ceremony, the PSL 8 will begin on February 13 with a match between the reigning champions Lahore Qalandars and the 2021 champion Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
