Four teams have qualified for the semi-final round of the ongoing second edition of the Azadi Cup hockey tournament in Rawalpindi.
Pakistan WAPDA, Pakistan Army, Pakistan Navy, and Mari Petroleum all made it into the semi-finals following the two matches on the fourth day.
Two matches took place on the fourth day of the event at the Lt. Gen. Ashfaq Nadeem Hockey Stadium, captivating the audience with a spectacular display.
In a convincing 9-1 victory over the Police, the Pakistan Navy outplayed their opponents, with Basharat showcasing his talent and prowess with an incredible hat-trick.
With a 12-0 victory over Pakistan Army White in the second game, Mari Petroleum demonstrated its superiority with four goals from Arbaaz and three goals from Umair Sattar.
Olympians Nasir Ali and Shahnaz Sheikh, the tournament director, as well as other well-known figures in Pakistan hockey, graced the event.
High-stakes games are anticipated for tomorrow’s semi-final matches of the competition at the Lt. Gen. Ashfaq Nadeem Hockey Stadium.
Pakistan WAPDA will compete against Pakistan Navy in the first semi-final, and Mari Petroleum and Pakistan Army Colors will square off in the second.
