The passing of freshman Zaley Blocklinger has caused sadness among the faculty and students at Walla Walla High School.
The Walla Walla County Sheriff’s Office notified Walla Walla Public Schools on Saturday morning that Blocklinger had passed away in an automobile accident.
According to Undersheriff Joe Klundt, Blocklinger and another freshman female were both engaged in the accident, which occurred at 2:15 a.m. on Saturday at Foster and Reser roads. Blocklinger was killed after being ejected. The incident is being looked into.
The district has begun using its crisis response strategy, and weekend musical events have been postponed until later.
