On Friday, Vivo unveiled two new smartphones in China. They expand the company’s line of foldable devices and include the Vivo X Fold 2 and the Vivo X Flip. The Vivo is foldable was eagerly awaited in a year that saw the launch of numerous foldable within the first few months. In the weeks before the phones’ release, rumors and leaks about them circulated. Each of the phones launched with two different storage configurations and three different color options. They will soon be offered for purchase in China.
Price and Availability:
The 12GB RAM + 256GB storage model of the Vivo X Fold 2 is marked at CNY 8,999, while the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage model is marked at CNY 9,999. Both models are available in Shadow Black, China Red, and Azure Blue color options.
The Vivo X Flip is priced at CNY 5,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage option and CNY 6,699 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB option. The color options for the X Flip are Diamond Black, Ling Purple, and Silk Gold.
Starting on April 28, China will offer for sale the Vivo X Fold 2 and Vivo X Flip. Vivo has not announced whether the models will be released throughout the world.
Vivo X Fold 2

The Vivo X Fold 2 has an internal 8.03-inch E6 AMOLED LTPO display with a resolution of 2,160 x 1,916 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1,800 nits. Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are also supported by this inner display panel.
The Vivo X Fold 2, 6.53-inch AMOLED panel has an exterior screen with a resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels, a refresh rate of up to 120Hz, and a maximum brightness of 1,600 nits. The SCHOTT UTG glass cover is included with this outer display.
The Vivo X Fold 2 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS4.0 internal storage, and it boots Android 13 out of the box with OriginOS 3 on top.
Cameras:
The new Vivo Fold phone has three rear cameras: a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel Sony IMCX866 primary camera with OIS support and a Zeiss T* lens coating. At the top of the outer display panel, there is a center-punched hole slot that houses the 16-megapixel selfie camera. Additionally, the device has Vivo’s proprietary imaging chip V2.
Battery and Charger:
The 4,800mAh battery inside the Vivo X Fold 2 supports 120W fast charging, 50W wireless charging, and reverse charging.
Features:
A 3D ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner is included with both the inside and outside display panels for security. Additionally, the phone features dual 4G VoLTE, 5G SA/NSA, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax, Bluetooth v5.3 LE, GPS, and NFC. It has a stereo speaker setup and a USB Type-C port.
Vivo X Flip

The Vivo X Flip’s internal display is a 6.74-inch Full HD+ (2,520 1,080) AMOLED screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1,920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming. The outer 3-inch AMOLED screen has curved edges and a resolution of 682 x 422 pixels. It also has a refresh rate of 60 Hz.
Storage:
The Vivo X Fold has up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512GB of UFS3.1 internal storage, and it is powered by a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. Running on top of Android 13 is OriginOS 3.
Cameras:
The Vivo X Flip’s dual rear camera system consists of a 50-megapixel primary lens and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The top of the internal display panel has a center-punched hole where the 32-megapixel selfie camera is located.
Battery and Charger:
A 4,400mAh battery with 44W fast charging support is included with the Vivo X Flip.
Features:
Additionally, the phone has a USB Type-C port and supports GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 ax, Bluetooth v5.3 LE, 5G, and 4G networks. The Vivo Flip phone’s smaller display panel can be used for a variety of tasks, including music playback, simple camera use, quick chatbox viewing, and more. Users can access multiple apps on the outer, smaller screen without opening the inner display thanks to a mirror application opening feature. The phone has a TUV Rhineland certification and states that it can be folded 5,000 times before breaking.
