The Vivo X Fold 2 will be available in April. The company has not yet confirmed a release date for its upcoming foldable smartphone. Vivo has begun teasing the design of the X Fold 2 ahead of the official launch date announcement. The phone’s design is slightly different from the previous Vivo X Fold+, which was released in China last year. Vivo revealed the phone’s rear panel, which features a circular camera module on a red background. A new unboxing video of the Vivo X Fold 2 has emerged online ahead of its official release.
The upcoming Vivo foldable phone’s unboxing video was uploaded by a user. The phone’s design is shown in the video from every angle. Additionally, it provides a closer view of the triple camera system and LED flash housed inside the phone’s spherical housing. The ultra-wide camera on the phone has a 16mm focal length, while the telephoto camera will take pictures at a 47mm distance.
The red rear panel of the phone has a dual-tone finish. There appears to be a glossy film covering the top of the rear panel in the area closest to the hinge. A fingerprint scanner with an in-display is located on the front. Two hole-punch cutouts are also present on the phone, one in the top right corner of the foldable display and the other in the top center of the cover screen.
According to the video, the X Fold 2 will have a 120Hz AMOLED display. While the creator did not reveal many details about the hinge mechanism, the X Fold 2 appears to have its own version of the Flex mode found in Samsung foldable phones. In addition, the company has introduced a dock menu at the bottom of the foldable display, which contains an array of apps similar to those found in Apple’s macOS.
According to some older leaks, the Vivo X Fold 2 will have an 8-inch E6 AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution support. The triple rear camera setup is expected to include a 50-megapixel Sony IMX633 sensor with OIS support, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 ultra-wide lens, and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX663 telephoto lens. Finally, the phone could come with a 4800mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.
