Vivo’s most recent launch event began today with the introduction of two new upper mid-range phones, the V25 and V25 Pro. The two phones are currently accessible only in India, but they will soon be made available in other countries as well.
Design and Display
Out of the two, the Vivo V25 is the smaller phone. It boasts a large display bezel all around and a 6.44-inch AMOLED screen with a 1080p resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. It includes a waterdrop notch for the selfie camera and HDR10+ content is supported on the display. The power button is on the side, above the fingerprint sensor.
The 6.56-inch screen on the Vivo V25 Pro is slightly larger and has much narrower bezels around it. The same 1080p AMOLED panel is used, but with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a maximum brightness of 1300 nits. The display has a punch-hole selfie camera rather than a waterdrop notch, and the corners are gently curved. The fingerprint reader has been relocated underneath the screen.
Internals and Storage
The premium Dimensity 1300 chip powers the Vivo V25 Pro, whereas the base V25 can only use the Dimensity 900 SoC. However, both phones’ memory setups—which include 8GB/12GB RAM and 128GB/256GB storage options—are the same. There isn’t a memory card slot for additional storage.
Both phones start off with Android 12 underneath Funtouch OS 12.
Cameras
In terms of camera configurations, the two phones are not that dissimilar. Although both phones’ primary cameras have 64MP sensors and OIS, the V25 only features an 8MP ultrawide camera while the Pro variant has a 12MP one. Each one of them has a 2MP macro sensor.
For some reason, the V25 Pro’s 32MP selfie camera has the same functions as the regular model’s 50MP camera, which has a better quality.
Battery and Pricing
In terms of battery, V25 Pro comes out on top. The base model is limited to a 4,500 mAh cell with 44W wired charging, while it has a somewhat larger 4,830 mAh battery with 66W wired charging. A USB Type C port is used to charge both phones.
The price of the V25 has not yet been disclosed by Vivo, however the V25 Pro currently costs about $500 in India.
