Meera, the 16-year-old daughter of actor Vijay Antony, reportedly passed away.
According to several reports, the daughter of a famous composer and movie star allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday.
Around three in the morning, the teenager is said to have passed away at the family’s home in Chennai, southeast India.
Meera and Lara were the two daughters that Vijay and his wife shared.
According to the report, the adolescent, who attended a private school, was allegedly under a great deal of stress.
In the wee hours of Tuesday morning, film blogger Manobala Vijayabalan appeared to confirm the news on X, formerly Twitter.
BREAKING: Meera Antony, the daughter of actor and music director Vijay Antony, committed suicide this morning at her home, he wrote.
“RIP, Meera.”
Ramesh Bala, another blogger, wrote: “Mrs. Fatima Vijay Antony was overjoyed when her daughter Meera Vijay Antony was named the cultural secretary of her school students association in March of this year.
“On Twitter, we all congratulated her.
“She meant everything to her parents.”
“Can’t even imagine the suffering.”
Following the teen’s alleged demise, a number of famous people expressed their condolences online.
“The news of Meera’s premature and unfortunate death, the daughter of @vijayantony and Fatima, is shocking beyond comprehension,” wrote actor and politician Sarathkumar Ramanathan.
“No amount of comforting words or condolences can take away Vijay Antony and Fatima’s enduring sorrow.
“Vijay, I pray that the Almighty gives your family the fortitude they need to cope with this unfathomable loss. #RIPMeera May her soul rest in peace.
Venkat Prabhu, the director of the movie, added, “Woke up to this shocking news! Sincere condolences to the Saar family, Vijay Antony. Adieu, Meera.
