This frightening incident occurred when a drag racer’s car flipped over a barrier at 200 mph, killing him.
Dad-of-three Sam Fenech looked to lose control of his vehicle seconds into the competition in Ipswich, Australia.
The famous driver and his rival are captured on terrifying Willowbank Raceway video accelerating quickly at the start of the race.
But shortly after the race has begun, Fenech’s Chevrolet Camaro scuffs up against the wall before veering into the path of his rival.
The automobiles are then smashed to pieces as it crosses the safety barrier and crashes into a camera tower.
Fenech was in serious need of medical attention when paramedics arrived, but he passed away there and then.
At 6.45 p.m. local time on Saturday, he was killed while participating in the Willowbank’s New Year Nitro drag racing event.
An injured cameraman was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening wounds.
The incident is still being investigated, according to Willowbank Raceway.
