The Micklegate Bar was surrounded by large throng that had congregated behind barriers in anticipation of this morning’s royal walkabout.
Three eggs were thrown in their direction as the King and Queen Consort were being welcomed to York.
After booing the pair, a man was heard yelling, “This country was created on the blood of slaves.”
King Charles was not directly hit by any eggs, however one did fall on the road next to him.
After the first egg was fired, police officers and members of the royal security team sped to the area. In video of the incident, they can be seen tackling a man in the throng.
The way King Charles did not even break a sweat over that man throwing egg is the prize for me.????????The Royal family is made of stronger stuff than politicians, thats for sure. There will always be one ????, So ????

The audience then erupted in cries of “God save the King” and “shame on you” at him.
Others nearby raised Union Jack flags as the altercation progressed.
‘Major incident here in York as a lone protestor tries to hurl an egg at the king screaming that the country was created on the blood of slavery,’ stated Rebecca English, Royal Editor of the Daily Mail, on Twitter.
“He is strapped to the floor.”
Two uniformed officers shackled the suspect’s legs and handcuffed him before loading him into the back of a police van.
The King carried on with his tour of the neighbourhood, appearing unconcerned by the egg-throwing incident.
The eggs flew in his direction, and he continued shaking hands with a member of the public, pausing only to glance at the shattered shells on the ground.
The King travelled to York to witness the first statue of Queen Elizabeth II to be erected since her passing.
Charles resumed the customary procedure in which the Lord Mayor publicly welcomed the king to the city of York while police were holding the man.
His mother, the Queen, last performed it in 2012.
The statue was revealed by the King later in the morning.
