The Met Office has stated that a massive rainstorm will begin to pummelled the UK in only 24 hours.
After experiencing record-breaking sub-zero temperatures and massive snowstorms in recent weeks, the majority of the country had assumed that the bad weather was ended. However, the Daily Star has now received confirmation that another dangerous weather system is approaching. A 24-hour rainstorm that will hit the entire nation starting tomorrow will be followed by another period of chilly weather.
“Occasional rain tomorrow (Wednesday, February 1) will become more widespread across northern Britain, maybe with 5-15mm (dropping) very broadly,” Met Office meteorologist Dan Stroud told the Daily Star.
“However some hills and mountains may see 25-50mm.
“A further pulse of rain is expected Thursday (February 2), again this mainly affecting North West Scotland, perhaps giving an additional 100mm by the end of the day on Thursday over hills and mountains.
“Beyond that high pressure is set to becoming more dominate, with high pressure over the UK or eventually to the east.
“However the wettest conditions (are) always reserved for the far north and west as we move into the first week of February.”
Despite the fact that 19 flood advisories are presently in effect across the nation, the forecast 100mm of rain—or even the 25–50mm predicted—could still result in significant flooding.
