A video of an expat flaunting his wealth in a luxury car dealership went viral on social media, prompting the Federal Prosecution for Combating Rumors and Cybercrimes in the UAE to order his arrest.
In the video, an Asian man posing as an Arab walks into a car showroom with two helpers and a wad of cash.
While attempting to purchase a car worth $545,000 (AED 2 million), the accused is seen acting haughtily toward dealership employees. He even distributed some of his stash of cash to the dealership’s employees.
However, according to reports from WAM, the video promoted certain myths about Arab wealth and insulted and ridiculed Emirati society. This is the popular video that led to the man’s arrest.
