Concerning Facebook’s recently released Threads app, Twitter has sent a legal threat to Meta, the parent company of Facebook. The attorney for Twitter asserts that by using former Twitter employees to create a comparable app, Meta has improperly used Twitter’s trade secrets and intellectual property.
Since its debut, Threads, a product of Meta’s Instagram team, has attracted millions of users and has grown significantly in popularity. In response, Andy Stone, a spokesman for Meta, claimed that none of the engineers on the Threads app had previously worked for Twitter.
Analysts believe that Threads might pose a threat to Twitter’s hegemony in the social media space, despite Twitter CEO Linda Yaccarino’s silence on the subject.
