Users of social media are outraged after Twitter encountered a number of bugs that prevented some users from logging in.
Around 4.30 p.m., the problem was first brought up, and thousands of reports on Downdetector since then have demonstrated that it is still a problem.
Some irate users have used the confusion to demand that Elon Musk step down as Twitter’s CEO because they are unable to log into their accounts and others are unable to follow links or view images.
One said: “So when are we replacing Elon with a different CEO?”
Another added: “Apparently Elmo broke twitter again. Has anyone else noticed that this site has become a broken down piece of trash since he took over?”
People from all over the world have complained about the problem, joining those in the UK, Australia, Portugal, Brazil, and Japan who have had trouble accessing their accounts.
Recent changes had “unintended consequences,” which Twitter’s support account tweeted it was working to fix.
It said: “Some parts of Twitter may not be working as expected right now.
“We made an internal change that had some unintended consequences.
“We’re working on this now and will share an update when it’s fixed.”
15% of the problems were app-related, while 77% of the issues were reported on the website. Another 8% mentioned problems with server connections.
Since Musk fired the majority of the employees responsible for keeping Twitter operational, engineers and experts have warned that the platform is in danger of fraying.
Elon Musk eliminated 200 Twitter positions last month, including one held by a devoted executive who slept at the corporate headquarters.
After Esther Crawford introduced the contentious “blue tick” verification, which users pay for, the billionaire fired her. Crawford joined the company in December 2020.
