A “loving and kind” father who passed away in an accident on the A12 has received condolences. On September 3, emergency personnel were called to the area between Marks Tey and Stanway.
Marcin Zabicki, a biker, was engaged in a collision just before 4.40 in the morning, according to police, while travelling on the northbound lane between junctions 25 and 26. At the site, the 45-year-old passed away.
A 26-year-old Ipswich man has been detained on suspicion of causing a fatal accident while driving recklessly, carelessly while intoxicated, while driving while impaired by drugs or alcohol, failing to halt at the scene, and driving under the influence of alcohol. He was later released while a probe was ongoing.
“He was such an amazing, loving, caring and hard-working person who lost his life in a such a tragic way. My heart is filled with sadness, now you’re not here today. But memories of our happy times will never fade away.”
Police claim to have located a Volkswagen Golf they think was responsible for the collision. But police suspect that there may have been more than one vehicle involved.
We have spoken to a number of people to get their versions of what happened, and I would want to thank them for that, said Inspector Mark Fraser from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit. I’m asking anyone who was travelling in the vicinity on Saturday morning about 4.40 a.m. and a little earlier to check their dashcam to see whether it recorded the incident or even just the moments before it.
