TRIBUTES have poured in for a guy who died in a car accident on an A-road.
George Sawyer, 18, of Farnley Tyas in West Yorkshire, was killed when he was hit by a black BMW while crossing the A64 near York.
The accident occurred soon before 1.20 a.m. on the A64’s eastbound carriageway.
The driver of the BMW, a guy in his forties, is cooperating with investigators in their inquiry.
Police are asking anybody who saw George or the black BMW in the vicinity to contact them, as well as anyone who has dashcam footage of either.
On Facebook, many have paid homage to George.
One commented: “So sad such a handsome young man tragic my thoughts are with his family.”
And another said: “So very sorry for your loss, my condolences to family and friends at this very sad time. RIP GEORGE.”
While one person added: “God bless him. Gone too soon. My condolences to the family.”
