A “environmental heroine” who was allegedly slain in her home on New Year’s Eve is receiving a flood of tributes.
At before 10 a.m. on Saturday, police found Stephanie Hansen at a residence in west London with several stab wounds.
Stephanie was found unresponsive at the residence on Willenhall Drive in Hayes, and police and paramedics were dispatched.
Stephanie knew Seldon Rodrigues, 29, who was detained and accused of killing her.
He has a court date today in Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
Ms. Hansen volunteered for the Cranford Action Group, a neighbourhood improvement organisation working to improve and green the West London neighbourhood.
“My heart is broken since I heard the news. She always cared about mother nature and her friends. She was full of love! I will always remember her as a funny and cheerful girl with her pink hoop.
“Her life was taken in a horrible and unnecessary way. She will be deeply missed. I loved her bubbly personality and I can’t believe that she’s gone.”
A number of Stephanie’s friends took to social media to pay tribute.
One volunteer wrote: “We are shocked and deeply saddened to hear the loss of our dear friend Stephanie Hansen on New Years Eve. Stephanie, a beautiful young lady and a remarkable environmental heroine.
“She would trek every weekend from Hayes to Cranford to help with our local projects. We will miss her laughter, her boundless energy and fearlessness in tackling all things harmful to the environment. RIP Stef.”
