Tiffany Brodvin who plunged to her death from a posh Manhattan skyscraper had a disability and lived with her mother.
Neighbors described Tiffany Brodvin, who was in her 30s and staying with her mother, Dr. Susan Kett, as a “calm and kind” woman.
Before the catastrophe at around 7 a.m. on Tuesday, the rehabilitation specialist was frequently spotted hanging onto her mother’s hand in the Sutton Place where they resided.
She was found dead on the sidewalk at 157 East 57th Street when police were called at 7:14 a.m.
She was eventually declared dead at the scene when officers determined that her injuries were consistent with a fall.
It is not the first fatality at the upscale skyscraper, which neighbours have called the “suicide building,” according to neighbours, who claim that another death occurred there just two years ago.
One of the residents said one of the superintendents was very upset and said, ‘Not again.’
Brodvin was described as ‘quiet and nice.’ She was described by a neighbor as having some type of disability and a ‘very sweet girl’.
Fernando Molena, 21, who works at a nearby shoe repair store, said: ‘It’s strange because it happened here two years ago, but maybe just more of a coincidence.’
He continued: ‘I saw [the victim] last Wednesday. She was friendly and would always wave when she passed the store.’
He said she was a regular customer at Elite Shoe Repair, adding: ‘Wow. She was a neighbor. I am sad. Now the street isn’t going to feel the same anymore.’
He claimed to have seen her dead body outside the M57 M31 bus stop. He claimed that the scene was gory and that he was trying to turn away.
He continued: ‘I saw [the victim] last Wednesday. She was friendly and would always wave when she passed the store.’
He said she was a regular customer at Elite Shoe Repair, adding: ‘Wow. She was a neighbor. I am sad. Now the street isn’t going to feel the same anymore.’
He said he saw her body in the ground outside of the M57 M31 bus stop. He said it was a gruesome scene and he tried to look away.
He said: ‘I don’t want to see it. I saw the body. It didn’t have a cover on her. She had blonde hair and was wearing a red dress.
‘It seems really strange because you have the canopy of the building so I don’t know how she hit the ground,’ he said pointing to the site outside the building.’
‘I was here really early in the morning I just happened to not be here when she jumped.’ ‘It’s upsetting I am glad I wasn’t here to see that,’ he said.
The city washer who was standing outside the structure claimed to have been removing all the blood from the ground.
He claimed that after hours of cleaning, the woman’s body had already been taken.
When a longtime resident at the address learned it was her neighbour, she was astounded and said: “She had some troubles.” She had a dog and resided with her mother.
She claimed to be quite close to her mother. She frequently observed them strolling hand in hand or with their arms intertwined.
The resident said that the mother and daughter had lived in the building for more than 17 years.
Will Goldsholl, a resident of the building, claimed that at 7 a.m., he had just finished walking his dog when he went downstairs to leave for work and saw the gruesome scene.
He said: ‘She was face up. He head and shoulders were covered in blood. Her legs were facing east and her body was right behind the bus stop.’
‘It was shocking. Nothing quite prepares you to see something like that.’
He claimed that two months prior, he had relocated from another apartment a few blocks away to the opulent complex.
He claimed not to know her but added that everyone there is extremely amiable, there are many of families, and many people have lived there for a very long period.
Parking attendant Joel Cardoza, 31, claimed to have spoken to a resident of the building who had informed him of the situation.
The building where the woman jumped is known as “the suicide building,” a salesman at Bassano Jewellery, a business down the block, claimed.
