A mother of twins was shot to death at a Florida bar early Wednesday after being savagely beaten by a guy and his girlfriend.
The deadly altercation inside Mugs & Jugs pub and drive-through in Pensacola began around 1 a.m. with a fight between Tierra Binion, 25, and Rachel DeRise, 23, before spilling outside into the parking lot, according to authorities.
According to Escambia County Sheriff Chip Simmons, the altercation was first “mutually combatant” until DeRise’s boyfriend, Christian Ketchup, jumped in and knocked Binion down with a blindside punch.
“During the fight, Christian Ketchup just jumps to [Binion] and punches her and knocks her aside,” Simmons said.
DeRise allegedly continued to attack Binion, jumping on her and raining blows on her unconscious body.
Ketchup then allegedly pulled out a handgun and unloaded seven rounds at Binion, killing the mother on the scene.
He then called police and turned himself in.
The suspect has been charged with murder and is being jailed without bail.
DeRise was charged with battery as a result of her involvement in the incident. According to Law and Crime, she was released on Thursday after paying a $15,000 bond.
“Ketchup punches [Binion] — he may have knocked her unconscious — and then she jumped back on her and started punching her again,” the sheriff explained to WEAR.
“There’s obviously no reason to do it. You may simply have gone away. That isn’t a mutually combative situation.”
Following the event, Mug & Jugs was temporarily closed.
Binion’s sister, Diamond Johnson, said the victim was a “sweet soul.”
“The situation elevated and escalated into something that is irreplaceable,” Johnson told People.
“And now Tierra’s gone.”
Binion divided her time between Florida and Virginia with her husband and their 4-year-old sons, and had plans to join the military, her sister said.
