After a terrifying vehicle accident, a YOUTUBER who was 28 years old passed away.
Influencer Tiago Eugénio suffered severe injuries in the collision at the end of June and spent 80 days in a coma.
After the early-morning collision on the A22 near Boliqueime, Loulé, the Portuguese star was found unconscious inside the wreckage and later recovered.
He was subsequently taken to a hospital in Faro and placed in intensive care while unconscious.
But on Thursday morning, Tiago passed away after more than two months of battle for his life.
His heartbroken mother paid an emotional homage to her son, who had more than 160,000 Instagram followers, and called him a “great warrior.”
“I always prayed to God that I would never have to experience pain like this,” she added.
“I want to inform you that my love, my Tiago, left this morning. He fought for 80 days.
“A great warrior, but God wanted it that way. I can only accept it with enormous pain, which destroys my heart.
“To you my beautiful love, mother just wants you to leave in peace.
“You will definitely have your grandmothers waiting for you, a part of me goes with you.
“I will love you forever. One day we will meet.”
Heartbroken fans and friends of the YouTube star have shared tributes on social media.
One said: “I know you are dancing in heaven.”
Another shared a photo from a wedding and wrote: “Rest in peace, sweetheart.
“Continue to shine above as you did below. One day we will meet.”
A third commented: “My dear friend, you will never be forgotten, you will always be in my heart.
“Rest in peace my friend.
“I leave here a memory of a day so important to me that you were part of and I thank you for everything you did on that day.
“See you one day my friend.”
